10 days of remarkable golf and sightseeing in Scandinavia – Denmark and Sweden.

In November 2013, the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) named Sweden as the 2014 Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year!

Now you have the opportunity to visit one of golf’s best kept secrets. You will tour the country with your own native tour guide. The guide will take you to some of the best golf courses in the country and show you the hidden pearls of Europe on and off the golf course.

Sweden has made a name for itself as a golfing nation with the success of golfing legend Annika Sörenstam and PGA Tour players like Jesper Parnevik, Henrik Stenson and Peter Hanson. This trip will take you to these Swedish golfers’ outstanding home courses.

This tour is more than just a fantastic golf experience. Enjoy the beauty of small towns from the Middle Ages, castles and the capitals of Sweden and Denmark. Eat dinner on the small famous islands outside Stockholm and get to know the Scandinavians in our own Ryder Cup/Solheim Cup event of the year.

Wednesday

You will arrive at Copenhagen International Airport, Denmark, where you'll be met by a Golfpac International representative who will answer questions before you set off on your Scandinavian journey.

The guide will take you to your hotel for the night, Scandic Palace Hotel, next to the Town Hall Square in the heart of Copenhagen and only minutes from the popular attractions Strøget and Nyhavn. Strøget is one of the longest pedestrian shopping streets in Europe. Most of the buildings along the street date to the late 19th or early 20th centuries, with the oldest building dating to 616.

Thursday

We’ll leave Denmark and Copenhagen in the morning and drive over the bridge to Sweden. The Öresund Bridge is the longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe and connects two major metropolitan areas: Copenhagen, the Danish capital city, and Malmö, in Sweden.

We’ll stay two nights in Malmö, the third-largest city in Sweden. Malmö is where Henrik Stenson and Peter Hanson started their golf careers, and this county has some of the highest ranked golf courses in Europe. We will visit the city in the evening, but before then, it’s time to play our first round of golf!

The first course we’ll play in Malmö is called Bokskogen GC, which is Peter Hanson’s home course. Bokskogen GC has hosted many professional events as well as the Junior Solheim Cup 2003. We will eat lunch at the course, and you will play your first round of golf in the afternoon.

Hotel: Scandic Malmö, a nice hotel in the heart of the old city.

Friday

After breakfast at the hotel in the heart of Malmö, we will travel in the footsteps of Henrik Stenson. You will play golf at Barsebäck GCC, which is ranked among the best courses in Europe. This course hosted several European Tour events as well as the Solheim Cup of 2003.

After golf, we will drive back to Malmö City and eat dinner at one of the cozy restaurants at Lilla Torg, one of the oldest parts of the city.

Hotel: Scandic Malmö, a nice hotel in the heart of the old city.

Saturday

We’ll leave Malmö and travel to a town from the Middle Ages called Sölvesborg on the east coast of Sweden. We’ll stay two nights at a Swedish bed-and-breakfast called “The White House”. On our way to Sölvesborg, we will stop at Bäckaskog Castle for lunch. We will take a walk in Sölvesborg, and the guide will tell you the history of the small town. If you want to play golf at night, you can! It doesn’t get dark until 9:45 p.m in June.

Sunday

We will play golf at Sölvesborgs GK and split up into teams of Americans against Swedes. Two Americans and two Swedes will play together, and the matches will be in a Ryder Cup/Solheim Cup format. You’ll get to know the Swedish people and play on this beautiful course surrounded by pine trees next to the Nordic Sea.

Monday

After breakfast, we will leave for the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. We’ll stop halfway there for lunch in the small town of Gränna, located next to a lake and famous for its homemade candy. We’ll spend the night at the Omberg Golf Resort. A three-course meal at the resort is included in your trip.

Sölvesborg – Gränna 3 hours

Tuesday

We will start the day with 18 holes at Omberg GC and then get on the bus again and head for Stockholm after lunch.

Wednesday

You’ll go on guided tours of Stockholm. The city is built on islands, with canals and open water in the inner city.

You’ll follow the guide through cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways as you hear about the original island of Stockholm, founded in the 13th century. You’ll visit the Royal Palace and the Stockholm City Hall, where the Nobel prizes are awarded each year. Another popular attraction is The Vasa Museum. The Vasa warship was built in the 1600s and is now housed in the musem.

Thursday

We’ll play golf at Annika Sorenstam’s home course, Bro-Bålsta. Bro-Bålsta Golfklubb was founded in 1978 by the architect Peter Nordwall. There are two courses: one with 18 holes and the other with nine holes. The 18-hole course is built with great care for the environment and is naturally placed in the beautiful surroundings.

One of the top features of the 18-hole course is the large undulated greens of par 73. In 2006, Bro-Bålsta Golfklubb hosted Scandinavian TPC, a ladies European Tour event. After four days of play, Annika Sorenstam beat Lorena Ochoa on the last green to take the title.

Bro-Bålsta Golfklubb takes pride in its pristine greens and fairways and its warm welcome to guests and members.

At night, you can head to one of the fancy restaurants in Old Town or step aboard a dinner cruise around the city.

Friday

We will play golf at Jesper Parnevik’s home course, Täby GC. Then we will have one last evening together in Stockholm.

Saturday

We will fly back to the U.S from Stockholm Arlanda International Airport.
